A Cold Yet Cozy Evening Full Of Soulful Music

The holiday mood was already over the city as we were setting up this beautiful terrace at Greater Kailash 2. Ah! What a beautiful place to be in with all that music, conversations, wine and beers flowing.
Our host, Shubhangi Garg opened her beautiful space for Sofar Sounds Delhi NCR for the second time. She surprised us with the amazing décor and passion towards music yet again. As Christmas was around the corner, the décor and theme of the evening was ‘Ugly Christmas Sweater’ and the audience didn’t fail us showing off their reddest & most rad sweaters.
The evening started with The Kartikeya Srivastava Trio, which consists of Pranai Gurung on guitars, Sonic Shori on bass and Kartikeya Srivastava on drums. The Trio was formed to reinterpret jazz music with a modern aesthetic hint to it. They played a power-packed set consisting of tracks like ‘Unfound’ and ‘Glass’.
Next up was Orion Freeman, a travelling artist all the way from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He came from his recent trip to Rishikesh to mesmerize the audience that evening with his soulful music. He stirred waves of emotions within everyone with his melodies like ‘Where We’re Going’ & ‘Delusional Epiphanies’.
We ended the last show of 2018 with the band Chasing Laika. Their music made everyone groove and bob their heads. The bands consist of Sachitananda Bista on vocals, Siddharth Jain on drums, Sonic Shori on keys, Aniruddha Wattal on guitar, & Ashrey Goel on keys. Together they rocked every bit of their set with tunes like ‘Lazy Afternoon’ & ‘Photographs’.
As the night grew colder we couldn’t stop asking for more heart-warming music. The night ended soon with new friendships & laughter, while we looked forward to more intimate gigs in 2019.
So, what are you waiting for? Apply for the next Sofar Sounds show which can change your weekends (and life) for the better.
